This year’s hackathon is for experienced Temporal users to build new and exciting projects for the code exchange. Attendees will form teams, collaborate, and showcase their creations, fostering community and friendships while learning and growing as engineers. The event culminates in demos where attendees will deploy each other’s projects from the code exchange, with the demonstrator and the original team teaming up to present, and then these projects are celebrated by fellow conference-goers on the main event stage.

This workshop provides an accelerated journey for developers ready to build their first Temporal application. In this hands-on workshop you’ll gain a deeper understanding of Durable Execution, discover how Temporal delivers crash-proof execution, and learn how this relates to best practices for application developers.

This workshop expects no prior knowledge of Temporal and is appropriate for any experience level who wants to build a Temporal application. If you’re new to these concepts and want to get a head start, you can complete this tutorial prior to the Workshop. This full-day workshop covers two essential Temporal topics through hands-on exercises. In the morning you’ll build production-ready AI agents that seamlessly engage humans and can run for extended periods. We will explore both the use of Agent SDKs (i.e. OpenAI, Pydantic, etc.) and native Temporal implementations.

In the afternoon you’ll explore various versioning strategies for safely evolving Workflows and Workers in production, including deployment practices, Worker routing, and emergency remediation techniques.
