Build with Confidence: Announcing Major Worker Improvements
Deploying changes to running systems is inherently challenging, especially with long-running, stateful workflows. Versioning workflows, safe rollouts, and production visibility are all areas where teams typically struggle.
In this session, we’ll show how Temporal helps teams deploy Worker code safely through new improvements to Workers. Learn how to roll out updates without disrupting in-flight workflows, handle Worker Versioning with confidence, and gain deeper insight into Worker behavior. We’ll also introduce new serverless capabilities that simplify deployment and operations, with a live demo to bring it all together.
Carly de Frondeville is the project lead for Worker Versioning at Temporal, helping enable safe, incremental changes to workflow code in running distributed systems. She is also a primary contributor to the Temporal Worker Controller, which automates deploying versioned workers in Kubernetes. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in the mountains and making things you can actually hold.
Stefan Richter is a Senior Staff Engineer at Temporal, where he focuses on building next-generation compute and AI-powered products. With a background in large-scale distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and networking, he brings deep expertise in designing reliable, high-performance platforms.
Prior to Temporal, Stefan held engineering roles including Principal Engineer at Amazon Web Services, where he worked on networking and infrastructure systems at global scale. He has long been passionate about systems engineering, operations, and the intersection of software and infrastructure, frequently exploring topics across cloud platforms, networking, and developer tooling.
Stefan is also an active builder in the open source community, maintaining projects and tools spanning container infrastructure, media systems, and networking software.
