Scaling Platforms Engineering in Nutanix with Temporal
Abstract
We’ve been running Temporal in Nutanix in production for the past 3 years as a Platforms Engineering team. We have built a wealth of knowledge regarding the most common and inevitable problems that engineering teams and organizations face. I will showcase how Temporal is used to solve problems at every layer starting from infrastructure to platforms to applications. This will include simplified workload management on Kubernetes with Temporal aided by tools like Clutch and ArgoCD, Infrastructure and Workload Access Control via Approvals with Auditing, Platform Observability and Alerting, how its a critical piece for Product security, how it paves way for achieving Compliance and Certifications and overall improving developer productivity.

Bharadwaj Embar is a seasoned cloud-native and distributed systems enthusiast with experience in architecting and managing systems. He specializes in Temporal, Kubernetes, Druid, and the HashiCorp stack, bringing together cloud-native technologies to deliver high-performance solutions. Specializing in both development and infrastructure, Bharadwaj loves solving problems around distributed systems. Outside of work, he loves to read sci-fi, board-games and tinkers around with his home-lab setup.
